ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII, headquartered at Umiam, Meghalaya, is responsible for coordination, monitoring and review of mandated activities of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the North Eastern Region — Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura.

The Director, ICAR-ATARI is the head of the Institute. The Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) heads the Administration Section. Matters are submitted and processed following the organizational chart (Annexure-I).

Cases are handled in accordance with extant rules, regulations and instructions with defined time schedules laid down in relevant rules and instructions.

The institute's work focuses on coordination and monitoring of technology application and extension programmes and does not involve subsidy programmes.
(xiii) Recipients of concessions, permits or authorizations
Age relaxations and concessions in recruitment/promotion are granted as per Government policy and ICAR recruitment rules. Other authorizations require Council approval.
