Zonal Workshop

KVK Zonal Workshop

The Zonal Workshop of KVKs is an annual regional-level event organized by ICAR-ATARI (Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute) to review and assess the progress, performance, and strategic direction of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) within a particular zone. These workshops bring together KVK heads, scientists, agricultural experts, state department officials, and stakeholders to share innovative practices, evaluate achievements, discuss challenges, and plan future interventions in the field of agricultural extension.

Key features of the workshop include technical sessions and expert lectures, presentations by KVKs on their initiatives, evaluation of mandated and special programmes, and formulation of state-specific recommendations. The workshops also facilitate collaboration with FPOs, agri-industries, and research institutions, aiming to promote sustainable farming practices, capacity building, digital agriculture, and entrepreneurship. Ultimately, the Zonal Workshop plays a pivotal role in ensuring that KVKs function effectively as grassroots-level institutions for technology dissemination and farmer empowerment.
