8. Brief Accomplishments:

  • Since 2020, I have served as the Nodal Officer for implementing the NICRA-TD component under ATARI, Zone VII, Umiam, Meghalaya. Under this project, we have effectively disseminated climate-resilient technologies to farmers through capacity-building activities conducted by KVKs. As part of this initiative, Custom Hiring Centers have been established in NICRA-adopted villages. These centers enable farmers to access farm implements and machinery at affordable costs for various agricultural operations across different crops, ensuring high energy-use efficiency. Additionally, village-level institutions, such as climate risk management committees and seed/fodder production systems, have been established to facilitate the implementation of the TDC NICRA Programme.
  • Model villages have been developed in six KVKs: KVK Senapati, KVK Mamit, KVK Lunglei, KVK Kiphire, KVK Lawngtlai, and KVK Dimapur. These model villages serve as a testament to the positive impact of improved agricultural practices on the livelihood development of the farming communities in these areas.
  • Tested and proven technologies developed by the KVKs have been transferred to the State Department of Agriculture for large-scale popularization. These technologies have been incorporated into state government schemes to boost the translation of research into development. This is achieved through the policy implementation of KVK recommendations on suitable farming technologies for the state.
  • Developed an e-learning lesson titled "Social Accounting Matrix: An Impact Assessment Tool to Study the Effect of Programme/Policy Interventions on Village Economy Dynamics" (2023).
